NARRATIVE
Dementia is a significant disability associated with Lewy body dementias but there are no effective therapies to
slow or reverse progressive cognitive deficit in these disorders. Proposed studies will provide mechanistic
understanding of how α-synuclein abnormalities lead to seizures and associated synaptic and cognitive deficits.
Information generated will have direct impact on future efforts aimed at developing therapies for Lewy body
dementias.
