Project Details

Description

The aim of the project is to monitor blood pressure and heart rate around the clock in clinically healthy peoples of all ages in order to derive time-specified reference standards qualified by gender, age, and ethnicity in different geographic locations. Abnormal characteristics of the circadian variation in blood pressure and heart rate are associated with cardiovascular disease risk in outcome studies. In order to reduce cardiovascular disease risk, restoration of a healthy circadian blood pressure pattern is sought by applying a personalized chronotherapeutic approach. Long-term monitoring spanning decades serves to assess the influence of space weather on blood pressure and heart rate.
