Project Details

Description

This award will support travel of U.S. participants in a U.S.-CECAM workshop on Hybrid Quantum and Classical Mechanical Methods for Simulation of Biopolymers, Lyons, France, May 9-11, 1995. The co-organizers of the workshop are Jiali Gao of the State University of New York at Buffalo and Martin Field of the Institute for Structural Biology in Grenoble, France. The workshop is organized under the auspices of CECAM (Centre Europeen de Calcul Atomique et Moleculaire), a Western European regional organization supported by the national research institutions of France, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, United Kingdom and Switzerland. The objective of the workshop is to discuss and explore future research on computer simulations of biopolymers in order to determine their structure and function. Application and development of hybrid quantum and molecular mechanical approaches to the study of complex biological systems will be discussed.
