Abstract

We have explored the feasibility of 44 Gb/s WDM transmission over a transoceanic distance using nil -Alternate-Phase RZ modulation format. We find that π/2 -Alternate-Phase RZ performs more than 3dB better than regular RZ or carrier-suppressed RZ.
