Abstract

• Blistering distal dactylitis is a superficial infection of the finger pad of digits, frequently presenting with overlying purulent bullae. It is primarily a clinical diagnosis. • It is most commonly caused by Streptococcus or Staphylococcus. (1)(2)(3) • Systemic antibiotic courses of 7 to 14 days and wound care are the staples for treatment. (1)(2)(3) • Patients with systemic signs of illness, although rare, would require hospitalization for intravenous antibiotic administration. (15).
