Abstract

In paper I we examined several schemes for the activation of adenylate cyclase in Dictyostelium discoideum and showed that they do not exhibit adaptation in the sense used there. In this paper, we introduce several schemes in which internal calcium acts as an inhibitor of adenylate cyclase, and analyze the dynamics of the complete network given in the proceeding paper using these schemes. We show that this network reproduces much of the experimentally observed behavior.
