Abstract
Using a sample of 149 sexually active respondents, we investigated the attitudes of homosexual men to venereal disease clinics: in particular we examined the incidence of STD and respondents' willingness to admit to homosexual contacts. The results indicated that many respondents had not admitted when questioned that the source of infection was a same-sex partner. Our hypothesis is that homosexual men with venereal disease do not admit the correct sex of their contacts to the Clinic doctors and that this is because of negative attitudes to homosexuality in Finnish STD clinics.
