Abstract
A study was carried out to characterize recommended donor sites and typical recipient sites involved in osteochondral autograft surgery of the femoral articular surface with respect to articular cartilage contact pressure, articular surface curvature, and cartilage thickness. The data suggest that the intercondylar notch may be a superior graft donor for the central trochlea since it is nonload bearing, sellar and relatively thick.
