title = "Effect of driving behavior on vehicular emissions",
abstract = "The differences in driving behavior (pattern) were studied using vehicle kinematics and engine parameters. The emissions corresponding to each class of driving behavior were assessed. Cluster analysis showed two different classifications of driving behavior designated as eco-driving and sporty driving. Eco driving behavior was associated with gentle brake-pedal and gas-pedal. Sporty driving behavior implied sudden or hard brake-pedal and gas-pedal use. Particulate matter, CO 2, and NO emissions and fuel consumptions for sporty driving were higher than eco-driving behavior. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 104th AWMA Annual Conference and Exhibition 2011 (Orlando, FL 6/21-24/2011).",
