Abstract

The first author sincerely apologizes for not citing the October 2018 AMTA-Pro Podcast episode "Potential harm in music therapy?"hosted by Brea Murakami and Daniel Goldschmidt and available at https://amtapro.musictherapy.org/?p=2100. The Music Therapy and Harm Model (MTHM) introduced in the podcast by Murakami and Goldschmidt (2018) preceded the Music- Induced Harm (MIH) model presented in the above journal article. The MTHM depicts the potential for harm in music therapy, whereas the MIH model is intended to provide a broader understanding of music-induced harm to also inform uses of music that occur outside of music therapy practice. Nevertheless, all authors feel deeply regretful for any distress caused by not promptly citing the podcast and are grateful to Murakami and Goldschmidt for their scholarship and contribution to this topic.
