Abstract
Extended relativity is a theory of four-dimensional symmetry with Reichenbach's time, in which only the 2-way speed of light is a universal constant. It includes special relativity as a special case. The theory is shown to be consistent with experiments such as Fizeau's experiment, aberration of light and precision Doppler shifts. The formulations of classical and quantum electrodynamics are discussed. They are shown to be dependent on the four-dimensional symmetry rather than on the usual constant one-way speed of light. The four-dimensional symmetry also dictates a new coordinate transformation, called the "Wu transformation", for constant-linear-acceleration frames.
