Abstract

The scattering of a Bose particle from a collection of identical Bose particles interacting weakly repulsively in scattering length approximation at zero temperature and confined by a spherical well of finite depth was calculated. It was found that the exchange effects in the Bogoliubov equations give rise to a reduced cross section. By calculating the effects of anharmonicity, it was observed that the inelastic cross section is completely negligible.
