N2 - The Project Connect program is geared toward giving exceptional, underrepresented undergraduate and first-year graduate students the opportunity to attend the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) International Microwave Symposium (IMS) under a National Science Foundation (NSF) travel grant. Project Connect was first introduced to the IMS in Tampa, Florida, in 2014 with partial support from the NSF and the IMS. With IMS2017 in Honolulu, students will be invited to a Malama Haloa event, where they will learn about Hawai'ian culture and sustainability practices as they pertain to both contemporary and precolonization Hawai'i.
