Abstract

It is often difficult to add more patient care activities to a busy shift. Performance goals can encourage pharmacists in increasing the provision of targeted services. These goals can be determined personally or set by the pharmacy team. One method for formalizing the provision of pharmacy services is to commit performance goals to paper. By including descriptions of the audience, service delivery, performance goal and evaluation, this document can then be used as an element in pharmacist evaluation and in training new pharmacists.
