Abstract

This chapter will introduce the concept of delivering precise volumes of intravenous fluids, medications, and blood products without programmable infusion pumps, which may not be available in in resource-limited settings. The authors include a brief case to illustrate how to calculate the rate of intravenous fluid delivery. The chapter also includes patient safety considerations.
