Abstract

Magneto-optical properties of iron oxide films were investigated. Iron oxide films were grown on MgO and oxidized silicon substrates using pulsed laser deposition. It was found that the Faraday rotation of the γ-Fe2O3 films was 4 degrees/μm at 645 nm, and 2.5 degrees/μm at 1550 nm wavelengths.
