Abstract
Since 1932, manual weather observations have been taken continuously on the summit of Mount Washington. An analysis of the hourly temperatures and daily maximum and minimum temperatures from 1935 to 2003 shows a statistically significant increase in mean temperature of 0.3°C and a decrease in diurnal temperature range of 0.15°C, both in agreement with regional and global trends. Warming is most pronounced in the winter and spring, also in agreement with regional trends. The inclusion of the consistently warm years of the late 1990s and early 2000s dramatically impacts the results of linear regressions.
