Abstract

Novel synthetic protocols for the synthesis of lipophilic carboranes were developed utilizing two C-C bond forming reactions, namely Baylis-Hillman and enynedioate cycloaddition reactions. Some of these carboranes were converted into further functionalized carboranes via nucleophilic allylic isomerization.
