Abstract
Due to major technological advances over the last few decades, both virtual reality and 3D printing have seen increased uses for procedural training and education within the medical field: There are widespread applications of such in medical schools across the United States and around the world. Many investigators are studying the ways that these modalities can be used for enhancing educational and patient outcomes. While many investigators are studying the advantages of 3D physical objects or virtual scenery separately, here describe as the combined uses of these two modalities into a “mixed reality experiences”: This may exponentially enhance the user’s understanding of complex cardiovascular anatomies during procedural training or applied education.
