Abstract

Databases are increasingly being used in real-time applications where timeliness of result is part of the correctness criterion. Time constrained resource scheduling is one of the critical issues for real-time systems. This paper proposes new CPU scheduling and locking-based concurrency control algorithms for RTDBSs. Furthermore, a real-time timestamp-based concurrency is also presented, to compare its performance with locking-based algorithms in the real-time environment.
