Abstract
When a patient presents with a large nasal defect, the prospect of repairing it may seem overwhelming at first. If the reconstructive plan is approached logically by addressing lining, cartilage, and skin separately, then the task can be simplified because there are several reconstructive options for each layer of the nose. Skin resurfacing should proceed according to the tenets of Burget who recommends replacing complete topographic subunits where appropriate.
