Abstract

This article has been retracted: please see Elsevier Policy on Article Withdrawal (https://www.elsevier.com/about/policies/article-withdrawal). This article has been retracted at the request of the Authors as there are concerns about the reliability and validity of the results included in the article. The journal was contacted by the authors to request the retraction because two key components of the results cannot be reproduced. The measurements of Fe3+/FeT in pyroxenes, which form the main results in the paper, are based on a calibration of XANES analyses which was subsequently determined to not be reproducible. This calibration was previously described in Rudra et al. (2021), https://doi.org/10.1016/j.chemgeo.2021.120532, which has now been retracted. Second, the temperatures and pressures of the experiments reported in Table 2 disagree with laboratory records and accurate values cannot be reconstructed with certainty. The editor evaluated this request and approved retraction of the article. The authors apologize for any inconvenience caused.
