Abstract
This special issue of the International Journal of Sexual Health is devoted to the issues of sexual health and public policy. The special issue reviews the public health challenge regarding the plethora of sexual health problems we face around the world. It describes the process of developing effective public policy to promote sexual health and addresses a number of issues that must be taken into consideration when developing such policies and programs. A number of theoretical and programmatic issues are discussed. Case examples of challenges and successes are reviewed and analyzed.
