N2 - To the Editor: Glaser et al. have addressed the important issue of sexually transmitted disease in victims of sexual assault (Sept. 4 issue).1 We have some concerns about the implementation and interpretation of tests for Chlamydia trachomatis in that setting. We fully endorse the warnings of Glaser et al. about the use of antigen-detection tests; in our experience, there are many false positive results when these tests are used to examine extragenital sites in children.
