Abstract

The sacroiliac (SI) joint is the largest joint by surface area in the body and provides a stable connection of the spine to the pelvis. With a small range of motion, the joint is a potential generator in the back. With back pain being a debilitating medical condition, it is important to accurately diagnose the pain generator. When the SI joint is the known cause of pain, SI joint fusion has clinical data demonstrating meaningful clinical benefit.
