Abstract

A computer program has been developed for the purpose of determining the performance characteristics of a number of latent heat thermal energy storage (TES)/heat pump system configurations that provide for space heating and cooling. Results for the particular case considered here suggest that the thermal efficiency of the heat pump can be improved substantially when combined with a latent heat TES subsystem.
