Synthesis and self-assembly of fluorinated polystyrene-polyisoprene block copolymers

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

The series of partially fluorinated block copolymers was examined by rheology, small-angle x-ray scattering (SAXS) and static birefringence. All of the block copolymers formed lamellae in the melt state below the order-disorder transition (ODT) temperature. The ODT temperature were identified in polymers with low levels of fluorination. However, in the copolymers containing higher levels of fluorination, the samples remained ordered up to the decomposition temperature. Clearly, fluorination increases the interaction parameter between the two blocks.
