Abstract

In this chapter, Dr. Ehlers, Dr. Surdell, and Dr. Venteicher discuss the subspecialty of skull base surgery. Modern skull base surgery techniques and technologies are evolving rapidly. A commitment toward mastery of intracranial and extracranial anatomy is essential in the modern era of skull base surgery. Skull base surgery is increasingly multidisciplinary, requiring teamwork between a variety of surgical and medical disciplines.
