Abstract
In this paper we discuss the use of such concept maps/graphs/trees/vines in instructional process. We extend the existing research on concept maps to concept graphs/trees/vines and provide educational researchers access to the rich tools and methods of graph theory. An approach that incorporates the instructor's prior knowledge on overall concept structure and relationship between the concepts is introduced. Updating concept graphs by using the Bayesian approach has been discussed. Also, an algorithm for constructing such graphs/trees has been provided together with an example for a introductory statistics course. Later in the paper concept trees are extended to concept vines.
