Abstract
Successful surgical management of an infected intra-abdominal prosthetic graft by the use of bilateral axillofemoral bypass grafts with simultaneous removal of the infected prosthesis is described. These shunts have remained patent over a 35 month follow-up period. The patient is well, has excellent peripheral pulses, and is actively engaged in farm work. This procedure seems well suited for the surgical management of infected intra-abdominal prosthetic vascular grafts.
